Why did I receive a letter inviting me to participate?
In this research study, we are doing a random sample. This means that the participants are randomly selected in order to control for confounding variables. You are a randomly selected participant.
Why should I participate in this research study?
The Chicago Healthy Eating Environments Research Study aims to understand how Chicagoan women make the decisions they do regarding their health. By participating, you are helping us with our goal to improve the healthy eating environments of your neighborhood and of Chicago. In addition, you will be compensated for your time and receive a reusable CHEER grocery bag.
I didn't receive an invitation. Can I still participate?
Yes! If you are a non-pregnant woman between the ages of 18-44 years old and live in Beverly, Humboldt Park, Logan Square, or Uptown you are eligible to participate in this study. Click here to take the screening survey.
What should I expect as a participant?
Participants will have the opportunity to come into our clinic downtown or to meet at a community center or library close to home. There will be a questionnaire and measurements taken.
